Coupon Collecting Tips
As you are getting started collecting your coupons...head to your local store.
For those of you shopping at Publix they have a kiosk near the front of the store that holds their weekly ad flyer. At that same kiosk, they often have bonus flyers with coupons.
Also, look for coupons from the coupon machines located along the asiles. You don't want to use the coupons just yet. Stash them away in your coupon organizer for when the item goes on sale.
As a rule you want to take at least 2 flyers and/or 2 coupons. That way if an item is BOGO you will have a coupon for each item. If the product is something you KNOW you will use a lot of and will store well...grab a handful of coupons just make sure you grab them in even numbers.
Don't be afraid to take the coupons...they are their for you to take...don't pass up FREE money!

Getting Started
Follow these steps to get started clipping and organizing your coupons.
REMEMBER: more than likely it will take you 3-4 weeks before you really start seeing BIG savings so don't get discouraged! Stick with it and I promise you will soon be SAVING BIG!
1. You will need to somehow get the Sunday paper. (I recommend the Wednesday paper too because this one has the grocery store circulars for the upcoming week. If you are lucky enough to get the Alberson's circular in your paper you can find HUGE savings in there...more about this later.) You can get the paper by going to the store every Sunday or you can contact your local Herald or Sentinel and ask about their deals. You will need 2 copies most weeks so you can either have 2 delivered or you can have 1 delivered and pick up 1 at the store on the weeks that have good coupons.
2. Setting up your Coupon Binder:
*It is a good idea to clip every coupon (unless of course you KNOW for sure you will not use the product). To really save money you can't really be BRAND loyal.
*Get yourself a binder. I use a zip traper keeper. (I will post a picture of it later so you know what I am talking about.)
*Get index dividers and baseball card plastic inserts. (You can find them at Wal-Mart.
*Organize your coupons.
3. Organizing Coupons:
*I sort my coupons first into food and non-food items.
*Food has the following catagories:
-dairy
-produce
-condements
-pasta/rice
-canned
-snacks (chips/cookies)
-cereal
-beverage
-frozen veggies
-frozen snacks
-frozen misc.
-meat
-baked goods
-refridgerated
-Misc. Food
*NON-Food
-food storage (zip-loc, foil, etc)
-laundry
-dental care
-over the counter medicine
-paper products (TP, paper towels, napkins, paper plates, etc)
-air fresherners (yes you will need an entire section for this)
-household cleaners
-beauty (and man) products (deoderant, lotion, shampoo, etc)
-baby products (for those of us that need this)
-MISC
Please feel free to organize the way the works best for you. You might want to organize according to the Publix that you use..however, you will find GREAT deals at Target, WalGreens, and CVS too.
4. Collect, Clip, and Organize coupons for at least 1 month.
5. Check back here for deals and more "how tos"

NOW GET CLIPPING!
Welcome!
I recently went to the grocery store with a family member who purchased $130 worth of groceries and she paid only $30 for them. I was in SHOCK but she said she had actually done better than that. Skeptical and hating the idea of coupon cutting I decided I had to figure it out for myself. I have clipped coupons in the past, attempted to sort them in a small plastic coupon sorter thingy and then NEVER even brought the thing to the store. I honestly thought it was too much of a hassle to clip because you didn't really save anyway. However, after seeing this family member do it (and she has 6 children) I thought, "If she can do it, so can I".
So, I started. it is slow at first because you really have to get a collection of coupons stocked up and you do have to get a really good organizing system down. I have been doing it for 6 weeks now and I am seeing really good results. Pasta for $0.39, Quaker Instant oatmeal for $0.83, Scrubbing Bubbles power sprayer $FREE, Glade scented candles $0.25...and the list goes on. I don't know it all yet but I do have some GREAT tips. So log on...complete the steps and follow me and we can save money together!
Maybe we will all save so much we can go on a vacation, pay off debt, take a trip to the spa, or go on a shopping spree...MAYBE we can do all of it! :0)
Feel free to leave feedback! LET'S GET STARTED!
